Chase Freedom is a great card to have in your wallet. It comes with no annual fee and it earns Ultimate Rewards points when you have another Chase premium card. The Chase Freedom card earns 1X on all purchases but also 5X on rotating quarterly bonus categories, up to a combined $1,500 in purchases. So you can earn up to $75 or 7,500 Ultimate Rewards points every quarter, if you maximize the eligible categories.
Chase Freedom Bonus Categories Q2 2019
The categories for the second quarter of 2019 have now been made public. The new 5% categories include Grocery Stores and Home Improvement Stores.
- Grocery Stores (does not include purchases made at Target or Walmart)
- Home Improvement Stores (Home Depot, Lowe’s and other stores are included)
You can earn 5% cash back on up to $1,500 in combined purchases in these categories from April 1st through June 30th, 2019. Activate here.
The second quarter of 2019 should be pretty easy to maximize as you should be able to find stores that sell gift cards on both categories. Also do not forget to take advantage of the current bonus categories.
If you don’t have the card, you can sign up and earn a $150 bonus cash back when you spend $500 within the first three months. You can also convert other Chase cards to this one, if you want to have it but don’t really want to apply for a new card, especially with that low bonus.
