Update: The checkout page at New York Times has been updated and now you need to pay upfront for the hole year. That means that you will be charged $204 instead of $16.99. I’m not sure if canceling and being refunded is an option.
For a limited time, a subscription to The Times will get you the gift of a Google Home. A $129 value.
New York Times currently have three subscription options:
- Basic – $9.99/month
- All Access – $16.99/month
- Home Delivery + All Access – $18/month
Only the last two option qualify for the Google Home gift, so you need to pay at least $16.99. You can cancel the subscription after that, since there’s no language against it in the terms of the offer. Once you subscribe and make your first payment, you should see confirmation for the free Google Home.

A great offer. You’ll pay just $17 for a $130 device. You should be able to cancel within the first month. Just hurry because this will not last long.
