Staples is having another gift card deal next week. If you buy $300 in Mastercard gift cards, you receive a $20 Staples gift card after easy rebate. The deal is valid from Sunday 4/24/16 to Saturday 4/30/16 (see ad, page 9). The $20 rebate will already give you a small profit, but when combined with one of the Chase Ink cards [5X Ultimate Rewards] or Amex SimplyCash [5% back] the deal becomes much much better. You can also use other Amex cards that were targeted for the 5% off Amex Offer.
It’s not mentioned in the ad whether it will be a $20 Staples gift card or a $20 Visa gift card. This might mean that you have the option to pick one or the other when fillin out your rebate form. The $20 Visa gift card can be used anywhere Visa is accpeted white the Staples gift cards can only be used at Staples or you can sell them (Saveya pays 85.5%, sou you’ll get $17.10 per each $20 Staples gift card).
The deal is valid in store only and you can only receive one rebate per household, so you might need the help of friends and relatives to use more than one address when you fill out the rebate forms online. But usually small variation of the same name and address will work as well.
Make sure you also have options for unloading the $200 Mastercard GCs. I plan on using my last surviving Serve before it gets shut down.
The best way to maximize your return, would be to purchase two $200 MCGCs for every transaction. The total cost will be $413.90 and you’ll already make a profit of $6.10 after the $20 rebate. But on top of that you will also receive 2,070 CHASE UR points, assuming you’re using a Chase Ink card.
Valid 4/24/16–4/30/16. Limit 1 per customer. In store only. Subject to availability. See gift cards for details, terms, conditions and (if applicable) fees. All trademarks are property of their respective owners. Product may not be available in all states.
