Staples is back again with one of their $20 rebates. Haven’t seen one of these in a while. Starting on Sunday 3/13/2016 Staples is offering a $20 rebate when you purchase $250 or more in Visa gift cards. Deal ends on 3/19/2016. The $20 rebate will already give you a small profit, but when combined with one of the Chase Ink cards [5X Ultimate Rewards] or Amex SimplyCash [5% back] the deal becomes much much better.
The deal is valid in store only and you can only receive one rebate per household, so you might need the help of friends and relatives to use more than one address when you fill out the rebate forms online. But usually small variation of the same name and address will work as well.
The $20 gift cards can be loaded into Bluebird/Serve if you still have one or used for everyday purchases anywhere. I’d suggest the latter. Make sure you also have options for unloading the $200 VGCs. I plan on using my last surviving Serve before it gets shut down.
The best way to maximize your return, would be to purchase two $200 VGCs for every transaction. The total cost will be $413.90 and you’ll already make a profit of $6.10 after the $20 rebate. But on top of that you will also receive 2,070 CHASE UR points, assuming you’re using a Chase Ink card.
